Be The Change Italy

We are a non-profit organization based in Messina (Italy) born in 2017, dedicated to promoting education, cultural exchange, and personal growth through the Erasmus Plus Programme and non-formal education at an international and local level.

Whether it's studying abroad, volunteering in a new country, participating in a cultural exchange program, or being actively involved in the life of your own community, we believe that exposure to different cultures, experiences and ways of life can have a transformative impact on individuals and communities.

  • to promote active European citizenship of youngsters;

  • to promote solidarity and tolerance among different cultures, in order to strengthen social cohesion and avoid episodes of discrimination and radicalism, focusing attention on issues such as respect for human rights, equality and cultural diversity;

  • to foster mutual understanding among locals and youth from different countries, in the framework of international mobility programs;

  • to foster the personal, social and professional development of young people promoting their creativity, entrepreneurship and self-confidence, making them understand their value;

  • to promote cooperation and exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of youth and non-formal education, promoting cultural moments and functional workshops;

  • to offer solutions and opportunities to the unemployed, disabled, elderly and excluded from society, creating conditions for active involvement in social, economic and cultural life;

  • to spread knowledge about sustainable living, raise awareness about the importance of changing personal lifestyle, in order to preserve our planet and stimulate actions on a small and large scale.

Travel, Learn, Discover!

Thanks to our organization and the Erasmus+ Programme, Italian youngsters have the chance to take part in international mobility projects where they will develop a wide set of competencies, boost their confidence and discover their potential. The core of these projects is the promotion of European values in an intercultural environment through creativity and freedom of expression.

As “Be The Change” we have been partners in around 35 mobility programmes within the Erasmus+ context, 5 of them recognized as Good Practices, sending more than 300 youngsters around Europe to share European values.

We hosted and coordinated 7 Youth Exchanges in the city of Messina, those have been recognised by all the participants as memorable and life-changing experiences.

We have established partnerships all around Europe in the following countries (Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Austria, Serbia, UK, Denmark, Romania, Greece, Estonia, Latvia, Lituania, Ukraine, Croatia, Slovakia, Cyprus, Netherlands)

Volunteering, Workshops, Training

In addition to our work with the Erasmus Plus Program, we are also committed to being active members of the local community in Messina. We believe in giving back and making a positive impact in the place we call home. Whether it's through volunteering at local events or partnering with other organizations to make a difference, we are always looking for ways to get involved and make a positive difference in our city.

At the local level, we organize educational workshops and events with youngsters from the local community of Messina, involving people with fewer opportunities (For ex. NEET, youngsters with migrant backgrounds or facing economical obstacles). Our main target group are youngsters between 18-30 yo but for some specific activities, we target youth workers who are involved in the educational and volunteering field in order to increase their competencies and raise the quality level of the projects/events implemented.

Non-Formal learning, a key for self-development and changing communities

"Be The Change" believes in the transformative power of education and international cooperation. We believe that through the Erasmus+ program, young people can gain valuable skills, knowledge, and experience that will benefit them in their personal and professional lives.

We also believe that by fostering mobility, learning, and cooperation among individuals and organizations, the Erasmus+ programme can contribute to the European Union's goals of promoting education, youth, and sport, as well as fostering social inclusion and employability.

Moreover, we believe that our organisation can play a crucial role in raising awareness and support for the Erasmus+ programme, and in advocating for its continued funding and expansion. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive difference and create a brighter future for young people in Europe and beyond.
